Help us to provide you with an impeccable service: follow our suggestions
Dear clients,
Translation, interpreting, linguistic consultancy services and localisation always involve a lot of work preparation. Each project must be assessed, studied and often revised many times, so that accuracy, precision and quality are guaranteed.
So let us take the liberty of making a few suggestions to avoid obstacles, that too often cause problems, waste of time and money, with the aim to provide you with an impeccable service:
- When you require an estimate for a translation service,
send us immediately all the material you want us to work on: the estimate will be calculated on this basis. If during the translation process it is decided that the original material will be integrated with other documents, a new estimate will be calculated.
- If the material you are going to send us by e-mail is a large file,
To avoid inconveniencies, remember that we have an Ftp address which allows you to send documents of different sizes securely.
- The price for translation service
is defined on the basis of the number of folders which compose the document to be translated: to save time and money we suggest if possible, you remove unnecessary repetitions from the documents to be sent, or highlight in a clear way the sections of the text which are repeated to guarantee they will not be considered in the folder count.
- If a service has a fundamental importance,
for your company, be as provident as possible, avoid contacting the company at the last minute: a hurried translation does not guarantee quality and often signifies higher prices.
- If the documents must be translated into more than one language, they must conform to specific formatting standards,
for example, if the languages are oriental and therefore characterised by non-Latin characters and the documents must be translated using a particular graphics programme or DTP, we ask you to inform us when submitting the work to us…. informing us later on could be too late, signify higher prices and could compromise the usability of the translation.
- If you have terminological glossaries,
or similar documents already translated, we would be grateful if you could supply them, so that our translators can operate faster and, above all, assure terminological and stylistic continuity with previous translations.
- When specifying the languages in which you need a translation,
Never forget to indicate the target cultures: for instance, there are huge differences between European English and American English, or between European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese.
- We are often required to check translations already carried out
by the client’s personnel. Sometimes this service involves more than a simple correction, a real revision of the translation. This kind of work requires more time and higher costs than a translation carried out from the start by our collaborators: we suggest you consider this aspect in doing your evaluations. So please consult us to choose the best route to follow together in order to satisfy your needs.
- In requiring an interpreting service,
find the time to consult our web site where you will find the description of the various types of interpreting services. Alternatively consult us and together we can evaluate which is the most appropriate type for you…otherwise there is the risk of providing interpreters that do not have the suitable qualifications and experience, or on the other hand, quote higher prices for a service that is in reality “excessively” specialised for the client’s requirements.
